HWB Children of Hope Initiative
Across Iran, vulnerable children face circumstances they did not choose—poverty, loss of a parent, discrimination, disability, and barriers to education. Hope Without Borders believes that no child's future should be determined by hardship. support for vulnerable children
THE CHALLENGE
Children affected by displacement can face multiple and overlapping forms of vulnerability. Poverty, loss of a parent, discrimination, disability, and social exclusion can create barriers that affect education, wellbeing, and opportunity. HWB supports vulnerable children who are living outside their country of origin, helping address these challenges and promote their wellbeing, education, and opportunities in their current communities.
Children affected by the execution, death, or imprisonment of a parent may face financial hardship, emotional trauma, stigma, and isolation.
Economic hardship can prevent children from attending school or obtaining books, technology, transportation, tutoring, and other educational necessities.
Some children face barriers because of gender, religion, ethnicity, family circumstances, or other forms of discrimination.
Children living with disabilities may face additional obstacles to education, accessibility, social participation, and opportunity.
